Dear Program Directors,
I am looking for R2 or R3 radiology residency position starting in July 2024. As a current third-year nuclear medicine resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, I am set to graduate in June of this year. Prior to my nuclear medicine residency, I completed two years of diagnostic radiology residency in Miami, Florida, which I had to leave due to personal health reasons. Now, I am actively seeking a diagnostic radiology advanced residency position to further my training. Despite the challenges of finding a job with only nuclear medicine board certification, I am determined to complete my radiology training, a decision supported by my mentors.
During my three-year nuclear medicine residency, I have been diligently studying radiology and have had the opportunity to do elective rotations in various divisions, including body, chest, MSK, and emergency radiology, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. For the past two years, I have also been doing moonlight shifts in the emergency division, primarily on weekends. These 8-hour shifts involve reading CT, US, and Radiograph studies from a list that covers 8 different community hospitals, including the Brigham. This fast-paced environment has honed my ability to work independently, communicate critical findings to the clinical team, and seek attending opinions when necessary. On average, I read 70-90 studies, including 50-60 cross-sectional imaging, per shift. I am also responsible for protocoling studies, answering technologist questions, and providing wet reads for stroke or ED trauma cases. I make real-time decisions on the need for additional images.
My ideal position is an R3 residency, but I am open to the possibility of repeating the R2 year. I believe this would provide me with valuable opportunities to learn under supervision and further expand my radiology knowledge. As a naturalized US citizen, I do not require visa sponsorship. I have attached my CV and other supporting documents for your reference.
I look forward to the possibility of joining your program and contributing to its success.
Sincerely, Muhammad Aamir Latif, MD Brigham and Women’s Hospital Boston, MA

Dear Radiology program directors,
My name is Eusebio Luna. I am a PGY2 preliminary of surgery at Yale pursuing an R1 position in radiology. I spent two years doing research before getting into residency, published papers and presented posters in national and international meetings. As IMG these 2 years in surgery allowed me to have a smooth adaptation to the health system of this country as well as to find my passion in medicine.
Discussing cases on daily basis and on call days with the members of the radiology department made me realize about the amazing world of radiology and the relevance of this specialty on medicine. It would be an honor to to be considered for an R2 position in radiology for July 2024 after completion of this year. I do not need any visa.
I would appreciate any opportunity, please feel free to reach out to me any time, I can email my CV or any other credential needed.

Dear Radiology Program Directors,
I hope you’re having an amazing day. My name is Parris Diaz and I am a UCSF urology resident writing to express enthusiastic interest in becoming a radiologist. I would be honored to be considered for an R1 position as early as June 2024 following the completion of my intern year, but flexible in my start date.
I am a recent graduate of UCLA where I excelled in my coursework, research (20 manuscripts with clinical trial experience), and community outreach (Gold-Humanism). In the months that followed I have grown exponentially as a physician and thankful to have been given the opportunity to rotate within my institution’s radiology department. This experience not only helped me rediscover my initial passions in medicine (anatomy, pathology, and diagnosis)—but also showed me I could be a joyful and excellent radiologist.
My program director, Dr. Lindsay Hampson, is happy to speak with you by phone or email. She has been supportive of my decision and will vouch that I am in great standing as a surgical resident. You can contact her anytime at [email protected]. Of note, during the month of March our associate program director Dr. Michelle Van Kuiken will be the best contact at [email protected].
All in all, I am appreciative of any opportunities and welcome any sage advice you may have. Please find my CV, PS, Transcript, and MSPE here (can be emailed upon request).
Best,
Parris Diaz
