Bios

Angela Huff
For the last ten years Angela Huff has been the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program Coordinator at Emory University, a position that started as a temp job in August 2012. Before becoming a Program Coordinator, she served in the U.S. Army. Her military background instilled an exceptional set of core values ‐ honor, integrity, and dependability that still cultivate her drive today. She has over twenty years of working experience. She currently serves as the Membership Committee chair and is a member of the APCR Wellness Committee. Additionally, she previously served on the APCR Scholarship Committee. At the 2024 AAR/APCR meeting, Angela won the 2023-2024 Outstanding Coordinator Award.

Amanda Hicks
Amanda Hicks serves as the Program Manager for the Radiology Education programs at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in Milwaukee, WI.  Prior to that, Amanda served as program coordinator for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine - Peoria.   Her work life before entering graduate medical education included work with the Upward Bound program to encourage high school students from low‐income families to continue their education levels beyond high school. Amanda earned an Associate’s degree in Arts and Science from Illinois Central College in 2012 and is working toward earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management at the University of Illinois‐ Springfield. Amanda also earned her Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) initial certification in 2019 and became recertified in 2024. In the past, Amanda has served as an officer for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society. She was also a recipient of the “Staff that Makes A Difference Award” for her work with the Upward Bound program, and served as the graphic arts director for the Civil Service Employee Council at the University of Illinois College of Medicine‐Peoria. Amanda serves as the APCR President-Elect, Chair of the Electronic Communications Committee, Co-Chair of the Special Events Ad-Hoc Committee, is a mentor on the APCR mentoring committee, and is the APCR Planning Chair for the 2025 AAR meeting.  Amanda was the recipient of the 2023 APCR Outstanding Coordinator Award. When Amanda isn’t managing the day‐to‐day operations of the radiology educational programs at MCW, she loves to paint, teach dance, and bowl in leagues and tournaments. She lives in Spring Bay, Illinois with her husband Greg, kids Devin, Summer, and Arielle. 

Ranitta McDowell
Ranitta McDowell began her career as an Administrative Coordinator in 2010 with the GME office at Summa Health in Akron, OH, home to her alma mater Akron University.  Upon promotion to Program Coordinator, she acquired 3 programs and two of them had site visits on the horizon. Being thrown in the fire not only fueled her hunger to learn more but also ignited a passion for organization, readiness and process improvement which led to her current role as Program Coordinator at Emory University for 5 programs for 11 years. Ranitta also serves at the first Program Coordinator on the GME Program Oversight Committee at Emory University.

She joined the APCR in 2013 and has attended AAR annually since joining. She served on the Fellowship Committee from 2015-2019. She is the chair of the Scholarship Committee and co-chair of the IR/DR committee, currently serving on the following APCR committees:

  • Professional Development Committee

Samantha Schnitzer
Samantha Schnitzer is the Education Program Director for the Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University, overseeing the administration of three residency programs, seven fellowship programs, and various medical student clerkships. Her journey in GME at Ohio State began in 2012 as an Education Program Manager in Radiology and was recently promoted to the role of Education Program Director. Prior to this, she served as Program Manager at the Ohio State Fisher College of Business for six years, working with graduate business students. She has experience in board leadership, as the Chair of the Central Ohio Program Administrators Committee from 2017 to 2019, after participating in several subcommittees until that point. She joined the APCR in 2015, serving on the Fellowship Advisory Committee starting in 2016, the Electronics Communications Committee in 2018, and the IR/DR Ad Hoc Committee. She is currently Co-Chair of the Special Events Ad-Hoc Committee, Co-Chair for the IR/DR Committee, and continues to participate on the Scholarship Committee and Fellowship Advisory Committee.

Sheik Amin
Sheik became the Assistant Director of Education in the Department of Radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in November 2012. Responsibilities include oversight of all educational programs. Prior to that he held positions in graduate medical education in Anesthesiology, Pediatrics and Medicine at Columbia and NYU.

At NYPH-Columbia Sheik has served, led, and helped establish the first NYPH Coordinators Sub-Committee. He has presented at the ACGME conference and co-authored a publication about residency recruitment. In addition, he contributed to the successful application of a grant for hybrid learning initiatives for medical students and serves as a team member implementing the new educational paradigms.

Sheik became a member of APCR in February 2013 and serves on the APCR Mentoring Committee and is the Fellowship Committee Chair.

Sandra (Sandi) Palma
Sandi is the Senior Education Programs Manager for the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in Boston, MA. She has worked at BWH since 2018, where she oversees the administration of four residency programs, eight fellowship programs and all medical student education (clerkship and advanced electives). Prior to joining BWH, Sandi worked for twelve years in the Boston Medical Center, Graduate Medical Education Office, as an Administrative Coordinator, overseeing the onboarding of all residents and fellows, training of all new Program Coordinators and management of New Innovations. Sandi is passionate about wellbeing and burnout for trainees, faculty and administrators. From 2017-2018, Sandi administered a national benchmarking survey of Program Administrator burnout, publishing the results in 3 subsequent articles. In 2017, she was awarded the “Distinguished Medical Educator Award” by the Massachusetts Society of Academic Medical Administrators, and in 2020 received the “Outstanding Coordinator Award” from the APCR. She joined the APCR in 2018, serving on the Wellness Committee starting in 2018.

LaToya Wright
LaToya Wright, BBA, C-TAGME is the Manager of Education Programs for the Department of Radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She recently worked as the Institutional Administrator in the GME Office, following more than 11 years as the Program Coordinator for the Radiology-Diagnostic Residency program and the Radiology-Diagnostic Clinical Scientist research track. At UT Southwestern, she currently serves on the Program Coordinator Advisory Council Milestones and Mentoring Committee and the Complement and Addition to Programs (CAP) and Non-Standard Training (NST) GMEC subcommittees. In 2011, she joined the APCR where she served as the Chair for the APCR Archives Committee (2018-2021) and on the APCR Board of Directors (2019-2021). Since then, she has rejoined APCR in 2023, where she will serve on the Awards Committee and Scholarship Committee. She has presented at the ACGME, AHME, and AAR conference and has co-authored two poster presentations that received the First Place Judges’ Choice Award at the Association for Hospital Medical Education (AHME) Institute. Ms. Wright is the award recipient of the prestigious 2022 Debra L. Dooley GME Program Coordinator Excellence Award from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Ms. Wright currently serves on the ACGME Coordinator Advisory Group for a 3-year term, beginning July 1, 2023. She has a strong passion for medical education and enjoys mentoring others. LaToya serves as the APCR Archives Subcommittee Chair.

Sheori Sinegal
Sheori Sinegal has served as the Project Manager for the Radiology Residency Program at Houston Methodist Hospital for the past nine year. She was responsible for building a quantifiable program that would meet the standards of the ACGME and ABR for accreditation. Likewise, develop goals and objectives, a measurable system to evaluate resident progress of required milestones, and develop program processes for implementation of providing patient care through safe, efficient, appropriately utilized, quality-controlled diagnostic and/or interventional radiology techniques from quality trained Radiologists. Prior to that, she was the Program Coordinator for Investigational Cancer Therapeutics fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center for four years. Sheori has a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences and is currently working on her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership. Sheori is a newly appointed Board Member-at-Large, co-chair of the Awards committee and have been an active member of the Professional Development committee for eight years and the Membership Committee for seven years. She also serves as a member of the newly established APDR Challenges to Education Task Force and subcommittee chair for the Standardized and Shared Resources for Teaching and Learning committee. She as been a member of APRC for nine years.

Sheori has two adult children and two grandchildren who she adores. She is a master of DIY projects, and is quite handy with power tools.

Stephen Jones
Steve is the Assistant Director of Education at McGovern Medical School's Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging (DII). In this role, he oversees educational administration for the Diagnostic Radiology and Integrated Interventional Radiology residency programs, as well as nine fellowship programs.

With a career spanning 31 years at McGovern, Steve has dedicated over 20 years to undergraduate medical education, including 16 years as a career and academic advisor in Student Affairs. He joined the DII in 2020 as the Senior Program Manager for the Diagnostic Radiology residency program and was promoted to Assistant Director of Education in 2024.

Steve holds a BS degree in Natural Science from Texas Tech University and a MS degree in Leadership and Ethics from John Brown University. He is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified executive coach (PCC), a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, and holds TAGME certification.

He is a member of the International Coaching Federation, President of UTHealth Houston Speaks! Toastmasters, and served on the Ethics Working Group for the National Hemophilia Foundation for almost a decade. Additionally, he has been a member of the APCR since March 2022.

Since 2022, Steve has become an avid cyclist, pedaling over 4,000 miles across Texas, including completing a 100-mile ride in a single day. He has raised nearly $20,000 for the National MS Society through his cycling efforts.

Jasmine Allen
Jasmine Allen is a dedicated and experienced program management professional with over a decade of experience in health administration. Currently serving as the Residency Program Support Specialist and Coordinator at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), she has been instrumental in shaping the educational experience for aspiring radiologists. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Howard University, Jasmine is on a mission to continually enhance her ability to connect with faculty, residents, medical students, and staff. Fueled by her passion for fostering a supportive and conducive learning environment, she is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Social and Behavioral Health Sciences at Rutgers University. This educational pursuit adds practical experience to her skill set, enabling her to contribute meaningfully to the field of health administration. Jasmine's journey began as an administrative assistant in the Department of Orthopaedics for University Orthopaedics Associates, where she honed her instructional and organizational skills. Transitioning to RWJMS, Jasmine's leadership and commitment to creating a safe and high-performing environment have significantly contributed to the program’s success. Having worked in her current position since February 2012, Jasmine manages daily operations for the Directors and Residency program, overseeing the needs of radiologists and medical students. She brings a dynamic blend of organizational prowess, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for supporting the professional development of residents, positioning Rutgers RWJMS as a beacon for medical education and residency training. Jasmine has brought in her expertise with Learning Management Systems, making it possible for medical students to learn from the most expert Radiologists in the country in their Radiology elective. Her innovative approach to integrating technology into the educational process has transformed the learning experience, ensuring access to top-tier educational resources for aspiring medical professionals. This initiative has not only enhanced the educational quality but has also positioned RWJMS as a leader in leveraging technology for medical training. As an engaged member of the mentoring and technology committees, she has consistently participated and contributed to APCR activities since the beginning of her coordinator role Jasmine aims to leverage her leadership skills for professional development, promoting positive relationships with APCR board members and APCR members. By actively contributing to the organization's programs, she hopes to enhance the impact of APCR's influence in advancing medical education and residency training.
